How to switch from viewmodels programmatically

Dec 14, 2011 at 3:39 PM

Hello,

I'm using a DockManager for using Telerik RadDocking and I use a login screen in the bootstrapper as

 public class myBootStrapper : FrameworkBootstrapper<LoginViewModel>

After the login I wish to switch to the WorkSpaceViewModel which has a DockManager property (and in the WorkSpaceView I've got the RadDocking item) and close the login form... any suggestion?

Thanks

To get you started, here's a quick sample I've just put together. DAF is trying to make things as easy as possible, but writing a good UI is hard. For example, good UIs are responsive. The new catch phrase is "fast and fluid". The way to do that is to make the UI asynchronous. Notice how in this sample the UI freezes while the login is taking place. Users hate that. The login should be done asynchronously, so that the UI is free to provide feedback to the user, for example an animation while they are waiting. I encourage you to consider our consulting services. I do consulting for a living, so the free help I can provide through this channel is gonna be limited to DAF functionality and basic examples. One of our JumpStarts during which we teach best practises and how to do all this stuff might be just what you need.

Hello Marcel,

thanks for your example... it helped me a lot... for what concerns the consulting service, I'll submit to my CEO, btw I've got a dev force universal data center license... isn't this consulting service part of it?

Thanks

No, services are sold seperately from the licenses.
